iWOWNfit P1 Sports Watch Review
I’m a little bit of a health freak myself. I workout 5 times a week, and I play other sports occasionally. So when iWOWNfit sent me this product, I was very eager to test it out. After using it for a couple of weeks, here is my full review of the iWOWNfit P1 sports watch.
BODY AND DESIGN
As soon as I opened the box, there is one thing that stood out the most, the charger. I have never seen anything like it. It’s a 5 pin conductor that uses magnets to secure your watch to the charger. Similarly, it works like a wireless charger, just less appealing. On the back of the watch, there is an indention with 5 pins where you will make contact with the charger. To be fair, once the chargers are connected via magnet, it won’t fall off easily even if you tried.
On the other hand, the watch itself is pretty standard. On the back, you will see the multiple sensors that will touch your skin and get all your statistics. The side buttons are premium built and are clicky when you press it. On the left side, the buttons act as the arrow buttons. On the right, is the menu/power button of the watch.
What’s different about it, is its strap, which is noticeably long. They made sure that the iWOWNfit P1 sports watch will fit comfortably with anyone, whether they are too big or too small. Although, if your hands are too small, the strap will have a lengthy extra that’s flailing around the watch. Also, the strap itself has a lot of holes for comfort. Breathability is important to sports watches as you are going to be sweating while you’re wearing this.
The iWOWNfit P1 sports watch requires an application to fully immerse with all its features. The name of the app is called the iWOWNfit pro and it’s available on PlayStore or in Itunes. Meanwhile, you still have to turn on your Bluetooth or else pairing your mobile device with the watch would be impossible. The minimum requirement of connectivity is IOS 9 or Android 4.3 with Bluetooth version no less than Bluetooth 4.0.
The application is very intuitive and easy to use. Even though there are tons of settings and features, you will find your way through the app. Also, it also allows you to track all your progress and statistics like your heart rate or steps taken and so much more. However, there are a few times where the application crashed and it needed to be reopened.
The iWOWNfit P1 sports watch is waterproof which is great for a sports watch. You can jog in the rain and you wouldn’t have to worry about your watch. You can also use this for swimming as the company claims it is waterproof until 50 meters of submersion. I have never tried swimming with these, but for normal water exposure, it works great.
The Built-in GPS on the iWOWNfit p1 sports watch is amazing. With no phones required, the device can track where you are, and where you’re going. You can map your routes and plan your run without having to carry your phone.
This, is by far, the brightest screen on a smartwatch I have ever used. The 1.3-inch high-resolution touchscreen is amazingly bright. Looking at the display in broad daylight won’t be an issue, unlike other devices. This makes it perfect for hikers and climbers who are exposed to a lot of activity under the sun.
Dynamic Heart Rate Monitoring
The iWOWNfit p1 sports watch can continuously monitor your heart rate 24/7. Apart from the ECG sensors, It includes HRV (Heart Rate Variability) Analysis that can indicate your fatigue state. Furthermore, it is equipped with a Heart Rate Alert for optimal safety precaution. The watch will warn you if you have reached your maximum heart rate when you are in the middle of an exercise.
Calls and Messages Notification
Much as it’s a sports watch, it can also act as a smartwatch. When fully connected to your phone, it will alert you for incoming calls and notifications. Specifically, you can choose what applications you will allow to notify you through the mobile app.
Intelligent Data Collection
The iWOWNfit p1 sports watch has 7 different running modes to choose from. You can set your goals for the day and tailor the watch to record your performance. In addition, it also has 17 kinds of sports where it can record real-time heart rate, exercise duration and distance traveled automatically.
iWOWNfit P1 Sports Watch Review
Rating 8 out of 10
The iWOWNfit p1 sports watch is the lowest priced sports watch that implements ECG sensors to monitor your heart rate. The heart rate monitor is very accurate and very reliable. It certainly does a lot of things and has a lot of excellent features you can use. Also, it’s a bit more comfortable than any other sports watches that I’ve tried.
However, i can’t overlook some of the flaws that are very essential to the use of the watch. The watch interface is somewhat slow and laggy. Diving deep into the settings can be frustrating when you’re dealing with a slow interface. It certainly needs improvement in that area.
What also bothers me, is the undetectable strap. This will also mean that you cannot replace the strap with a new one if you break it. Given that it’s rubber, it will tear in due time. I have torn so many rubber watch straps in my life to know, it will break sooner or later.
Having said all these, this watch is definitely worth a try. The iWOWNfit P1 sports watch is one of the very best budget sports watch in the market. It gets the job done without burning a hole in your pocket. You can purchase the iWOWNfit P1 sports watch at Amazon.com.
