Wireless Flash Drive

The SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive is a flash drive that can connect to your device wirelessly with NO WI-FI NEEDED. It uses and connects through its own private wifi network, much like how a wireless printer works. That’s right! You can transfer your files from your mobile device to this fancy flash drive even from far away. Just make sure you set a high-security password to avoid theft of your most precious files as others might connect to the flash drive easily.

It a slightly bigger flash drive with a measurement of 2.79 x 0.84 x 0.45-inch (7.09 x 2.13 x 1.14cm). In the middle of the front of the device, is an LED indicator which indicates if the power is on. Yes, in case you missed it, this is a flash drive that needs charging. SanDisk claims that it needs 2 hours of charge time to be able to turn the wifi on.

Even without the use of the WiFi Function, this device can still function as a normal USB flash drive. It’s a USB 3.0 so the transfer rate of files is very fast and very reliable.

In terms of operating systems, this SanDisk device works well with Mac OS and Windows. Furthermore, the SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive works with almost all mobile devices when it comes to sharing files. It supports all iOS devices that are running iOS 5.0 and higher, and Android devices on Android version 2.3 and better.

The SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive comes in 5 variants. Mainly, 16gb, 32gb, 64gb, 128gb and 200gb. Like any other products, the price increases as the storage capacity goes up.

How It Works

To connect to the SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive, first, you have to turn on the stick itself. On the side of the flash drive, you will see a power button. Press it until you see the LED light blink blue. Once it’s on, you will now be able to detect and connect your mobile devices or PC to the stick through its default wireless name.

To interact with the stick, you have to download the SanDisk Connect Drive app for your mobile devices. The application is available for both Google PlayStore and Apple Appstore. However, for your PC, you have to interact with it using their designated browser. This is where you can change the password of the USB stick so do it first.

I’ve tried transferring files from my Samsung Galaxy Note8 and the speed is not that impressive. However, I’m not disappointed since this is a wireless transfer. Everything wireless is always going to be slower than the tethered one, and there’s just no way around it. What’s important is a stable connection and an uninterrupted transfer where the SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive delivers.

Who is it for?

People who have a lot of devices will absolutely love this device. Especially those who have both Android and IOS devices. We all know how painful it can be to transfer files between the 2 platforms. Moreover, this is also applicable to MAC OS and Windows, as this flash drive can also bypass their file format sensitivity.

Office people who are always on the go will also find this device fantastic. To be able to back up your data externally and without Wi-Fi surely offers comfort in storing your precious files. Sharing Files with your co-workers is as easy as giving them your password without even breaking a sweat.

Rating 8.5 out of 10

I would give this product a rating of 8.5 out of 10. Consider the SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive as your very own cloud storage right in your pocket. It’s very handy and very effective in managing your files wirelessly. When it comes to PC connection, you’re better off plugging it in as the interface for the stick is not very polished.

It can be a bit expensive when you compare it to ordinary flash drives. However, when you consider its features and benefits, its price per gigabyte is of good value. Your imagination is the limit to however you want to use this device. Truly, the age of wireless is here to stay. You can purchase the SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive at Amazon.com.
