Anker Powerhouse Review
Have you ever seen a power bank this big? My guess is no! This is the largest power bank in the market as of to date, and this is our Anker Powerhouse Review.
Ordinarily, an average person won’t need this product. Not everyone needs this kind of power. However, if you are one of the people who needs this much portable power, the Anker Powerhouse will blow you away.
I’m talking about the Hikers of the world. The gallivants and the outdoor adventures who won’t have access to electricity for a long period of time. Also, if you’re living in an area where power outage is recurring. The Anker Powerhouse is what you’ve always been looking for.
Why call it the Powerhouse?
The Anker Powerhouse has a 120,000 mah battery capacity. For this much power, it actually looks more like a generator than a power bank. For example, It can charge your phone up to 30 times or your laptop 7 times. Also, it can power a television for 4 hours. You can practically plug anything into this device and it will work. To comprehend how huge this battery is, it takes 8 hours to fully charge a depleted Anker Powerhouse.
There are many ways of extracting juice from the powerhouse. It contains 4 USB ports, an AC outlet and lastly, a DC outlet. The USB ports are capable of fast charging as it offers up to 5V/6A of power. Meanwhile, the AC output is 110V and the DC output is 12V/10A.
In front is a mini screen which will tell you battery information. Quite flawed if you ask me. It’s not very accurate and the readings vary from time to time. For example, I charged my 3000Mah mobile phone into a fully charged Anker Powerhouse. After charging, it shows 88 percent left on the battery, but we all know that 3000Mah is not 12 percent of 120,000Mah. But don’t worry, you will still get the full 120,000Mah power, the readings are just a bit off often times.
Is it portable?
As amazing this product is, you are sadly mistaken if you think you can carry this around your bag. The Anker Powerhouse weighs almost 10 lbs with dimensions of 200 x 145 x 165 mm. A handle on top was beautifully placed to conveniently carry it around like an old-fashioned radio. However, This product is meant to be placed in a house or to be traveled by a vehicle and not hand held. The build is a high-class aluminum with four rubber feet underneath to avoid slipping.
Is it safe?
What makes this product truly remarkable is its safety. The Anker Powerhouse is equipped with a smart Battery Management System. The primary function of this is to protect the battery from operating outside its Safe Operating Area. This monitors the batteries’ state, calculating secondary data, reporting that data, and lastly, controlling its environment.
In short, the Battery Management System will prevent this product from ever exploding no matter what you plug into it. For example, plug a full sized vacuum cleaner into the Anker Powerhouse and it would just shut down. Once you try and exceed the limits of its output, it will automatically shut down, protecting the powerhouse and also the device your plugging.
Anker Powerhouse Review
Rating: 7.5 out of 10
This baby is an impressive power bank that is unparalleled and unmatched. The quality build is outstanding and very durable that will give you a peace of mind taking it anywhere else. If camping is your thing then you definitely need this product. The only setback of this product is its price. It can be a bit expensive for everyone. Also, it would have been better if they had a USB-C port in front. Newer technology now uses USB-C ports to charge.
Overall, this product is highly recommended. I would give this product a rating of 7.5 out of 10. After all, it is considered the largest power bank in the market, and they call it the Anker Powerhouse. You can purchase the Anker Powerhouse at Amazon.com.
